2026 NC BikeWalk Transportation Pre-Summit Webinar: If You Want to Win, You’ve Got to Fight: Inside / Outside (16 Sep 2026)

In lead up to the 2026 NC BikeWalk Transportation Summit, BikeWalk NC will offer:

If You Want to Win, You’ve Got to Fight: Inside / Outside

By Carter Lavin

What does it take to turn safer streets ideas into real change? In this pre-summit webinar, Carter Lavin will explore the power of the inside/outside strategy, showing how grassroots advocacy, community organizing, and institutional leadership work together to move policy and infrastructure forward.

Attendees will learn how lasting transportation change often depends on coordinated efforts from both sides: advocates building public support in the community, and decision-makers working within agencies, local governments, and organizations to advance projects from the inside. Through practical examples and real-world lessons, this session will demonstrate how these strategies can align to create safer, more equitable places to walk, bike, and roll.

Ideal for advocates, planners, public officials, public health leaders, and community organizers, this webinar will provide actionable insights on coalition building, strategy, and turning momentum into meaningful results ahead of the 2026 NC BikeWalk Transportation Summit.
